Importing the GTM Configuration with Kixell Tag
To configure Google Tag Manager (GTM), you can either create a new configuration or use a pre-configured JSON file. Here is the procedure to import the JSON configuration file:
Creating a New Configuration:
- Go to the Admin tab of Google Tag Manager.
- Select Import Container.
- Click Choose Container File and select the previously downloaded JSON file.
- Opt to create a new workspace by clicking New.
- Enter a name for the workspace, for example, Kixell Tag, and click Save.
- Choose the Overwrite option for the import.
- Confirm your choice by clicking Confirm.
- Go to the new workspace, then open the Folders section and select the ⚙️ K - Parameters folder.
- Edit the variable - K - Available domains - [kt] to add and activate the domains where you want the configuration to be applied.
- Save the changes made to your configuration.
Note: Before finalizing, click Preview to test and verify that the configuration works correctly.
Updating an Existing Configuration:
It is recommended to import the JSON file into a new Google Tag Manager workspace. You have two options when importing this file, depending on the complexity of your current configuration:
Select Overwrite
The configuration will be overwritten, and you will need to transfer the specific configurations of the default workspace.
Select Merge
The configuration will be merged, and you will need to check that your specific configurations are functional and that you do not have duplicate tags.
Note: Regardless of your choice, before finalizing, click Preview to test and verify that the updated configuration works correctly.
